Red Barrels invites you to experience mind-numbing terror, this time with friends. Whether you choose to play solo or in a team, surviving long enough and completing the therapy will determine your fate. Murkoff may let you leave, but will you be the same person who entered?
Synopsis
Set during the Cold War, you are an unwilling test subject of the Murkoff Corporation, subjected to experimental brainwashing and mind control techniques. In a world filled with paranoia and violence, your morals, endurance, and sanity will be pushed to the极限. All in the name of scientific progress and corporate profit.
Survive: Solo or Co-op
You and fellow prisoners must navigate Murkoff’s facility, choosing to either face the challenges alone or work together in teams of 2-4 players.
Co-op is optional for objectives but can be advantageous.
The goal is to survive and escape by completing the Trials and MK-Challenges.
Trials are narrative-driven experiences, while MK-Challenges are shorter, map-altered trials requiring quick thinking and teamwork.
Hide or Flight
Evade and outmaneuver enemies using tools provided by Murkoff, including:
- Stun abilities to temporarily disable pursuers
- Blinding mechanisms to disorient foes
- WallSeeing technology for situational awareness
- Medical tools for self and group healing
But these tools must be earned through in-game progression. Each trial will require you to perform disturbing tasks before allowing you to escape.
Character Customization
Personalize your character by selecting tools, upgrades, and perks to match your preferred gameplay style. Decorate your cell to make it feel like home during your therapy sessions. Encounter unique characters within Murkoff’s Sinyala Facility who may assist you in surviving the trials.

Investigate
Uncover documents and evidence of Murkoff’s unethical practices and human rights violations. The process includes:
- Breaking the Self: Systematic destruction of a subject’s identity and beliefs through psychological manipulation and trauma
- Building the Self: Indoctrination with a new ideology, presented as a form of salvation and relief from the previous mental anguish
- Saving the Self: Full assimilation into the new ideology, often marked by symbolic acts of commitment and loyalty
