In the year 1716 during the Kyoho era, the bustling city of Edo experienced a series of unsettling incidents that caused widespread fear and disorder among its people. In response, the “Oniwaban,” a specialized group tasked with maintaining order and security, was established.

In a remote village, a young girl with extraordinary abilities was forced into exile in the snowy mountains. Her unique gift allowed her to foresee disasters by seeing mysterious “black Threads” appear whenever catastrophe approached.

Representatives claiming to be Oniwaban arrived at her secluded residence. They informed her that her prophetic talents were urgently needed in Edo. Her ability to predict impending disasters could either save the country from malevolent forces or precipitate its downfall.
